Sensei Enrique, Bob, Julian, and Carlos attended the JKA/WF America Camp and Tournament in Santa Fe, NM for four days June 20-23.

Santa Fe is a nice town with a very interesting historic center. We had a chance to train and socialize with other karateka from around the USA, Costa Rica, and other countries.

We had excellent instructors for the camp. Master Masaaki Ueki, Chief Instructor of the Japan Karate Association HQ in Japan was assisted by Sensei Haramoto (7th Dan), Sensei Nagatomo (7th Dan), and Sensei Dhawan (6th Dan) among others.

Julian passed her dan exam and was so happy that she sang in the car for 8 hours on the return trip to Tucson. We also became familiar with New Mexican food (as opposed to Arizona Mexican food) at a variety of restaurants. And we were entertained as usual by Sensei Enrique.
